BROOKDALE CLASS OF 2018
Sixth Grade Activities Meeting
Dear Sixth Grade Parents/Guardians,
Sixth Grade is finally here!! It is a tradition at Brookdale School to celebrate
this milestone with a series of special events. These events take place
towards the end of the school year and the children really look forward to
celebrating with their classmates.
Some of the activities are funded by the Home and School Association,
however all of them are organized by us, the Sixth-Grade parents.
Please join us for a parent meeting on Tuesday, September 19th, at
7PM in the Media Center. We will be going over all of the fun activities
planned and there will be volunteer sign-up sheets available.
We would love to hear your ideas and need your help running these events!
If you can’t attend and would like information about the meeting, please
email us or give us a call!
Hope to see you there!

Brookdale School will be adopting a Texas school affected by the recent storm and flooding. We will be collecting donations of school supplies (notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, backpacks, etc.) as well as hygiene items such as underwear (child sizes), shampoo and other toiletries. We will also collect gift cards to Staples, Target, Walmart and Amazon in any amount.
We should have a very detailed list by the end of this week but as you go about your last minute shopping, please keep these items in mind.
More detailed information will be sent to everyone soon but we wanted to get the general information out as soon as possible.
There are many students and families who have lost everything. Please consider this very personal opportunity to help.
Update:
The school we’re helping is Hardin-Jefferson Middle School – the flooding has destroyed the school, which will need to be demolished and totally rebuilt from scratch. The students have been split up to attend school in other buildings for now. Many of them are still staying in shelters or with family/friends because their homes are not habitable.
As a reminder, we’re collecting school supplies, gift cards (Amazon, Staples, Target & Walmart) and hygiene items (including underwear in all sizes, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene items). All items should be new and can be dropped off outside the main office.
Please spread the word – we will accept donations from the community as well.
